According to Dutch military police, a stowaway was located in the wheel compartment under the front of a freight jet that arrived at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport from South Africa on Sunday.
In a statement, the police in charge of Dutch border control said, “The individual is doing well considering the circumstances and has been brought to a hospital.”
The man’s age and country have yet to be confirmed, according to Marechausse spokesman Joanna Helmonds.
“Of course, our initial concern was for his health,” she explained.
“It’s quite odd that someone could tolerate the cold at such a high altitude – really unusual.”
She stated that the name of the freight airline engaged would not be released at this time.
