Venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya affirms selling stakes in Virgin Galactic

Venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya on Saturday affirmed in a tweet that he has freed up some capital by selling stakes in Virgin Galactic Holding Inc, for contributing at scale without affecting his speed and strategic view.

“I despised doing it yet my monetary record shrank by nearly $2B this week,” he referenced in the tweet, adding a dismal emoji.

In a long tweet, referencing about exploring and renovating all that he put resources into, Palihapitiya likewise explained that he didn’t sell any portions of some other SPAC he helped set up.

A regulatory filing showed Palihapitiya sold 6.2 million offers in the space travel industry organization he helped take public in 2019, for around $213 million.

In an email on Friday, Palihapitiya said he would divert the assets from the offer deal toward an “enormous speculation” zeroed in on the battle against environmental change.

Virgin Galactic didn’t promptly react to demand for input.
