UK city of Nottingham: Driver of van killed 3 and injured 3 others in suspected terrorist bid.

Three individuals were discovered dead in the street in Nottingham, England, on Tuesday, and three others were hit and hurt by a van in linked early-morning occurrences, according to police. A man was then detained on suspicion of murder.

Three people lost their lives in this horrifying and tragic occurrence, according to Kate Meynell, chief constable of Nottinghamshire Police.

Just after 4 a.m., two bodies were discovered in one street, and a third was discovered in another. The three people hurt by the van were being treated in a hospital at a different location. Their conditions weren’t immediately known.

Witness At 5:30 a.m., Lynn Haggitt was approaching her destination for the day: the office. She observed the driver glance in his rearview mirror and notice a police vehicle drawing slowly and darkly from behind. Then the motorist took off, hitting a guy and a lady at a street corner.

Reporters were informed by Haggitt that “he went right into them; he didn’t even bother to turn.” “The man went up in the air, and the woman went down on the curb. There was such a bang; I wish I had never seen it.

After then, the motorist sped through the city while being pursued by police, she continued.

The injured man, according to her, was brought to his feet despite appearing to have a head injury. The woman appeared to be fine as she sat on the sidewalk.

The police did not immediately indicate a potential motivation. Instead of counterterrorism agents, local police were in charge of the inquiry.

We think there is a connection between these three incidents, and we have a man in custody,” Meynell added. A team of investigators is attempting to determine the specifics of what happened as this inquiry is in its early stages.

University of Nottingham student Kane Brady claimed that yells of “armed police” and gunshot-like noises woke him up.

He claimed to have observed police using stun weapons and dragging a man out of the van before pinning him to the ground.

He told GB News, “I witnessed him getting caught, attempting to resist. I observed a large knife being dragged out of the van when it was opened, and the police immediately closed both highways at that point.

Rishi Sunak, the prime minister, described the occurrence as terrible and requested that authorities be allowed time to investigate the crime.

Sunak added, “My thoughts are with those who have been hurt, as well as the families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives.”

Images shared on social media showed police in the city center standing behind cordons, some armed with weapons.

The city’s tram system said that all services had been halted.

A 350,000-person metropolis, Nottingham is located about 110 miles (175 kilometers) north of London.
