The U.S shun Chinese goods as Siemens adds factory employment.

At a White House ceremony on Friday, US President Joe Biden will unveil requirements for the government to buy more made-in-America items, while Germany’s Siemens AG will pledge to make additional investments in American manufacturing.

Biden has pledged to devote more of the $600 billion in annual federal funding to locally manufactured items in the hopes of rebuilding factories in impoverished areas, creating blue-collar jobs, and weaning the US away from dependency on competitors such as China.

The White House said that one of the stages is to finalize rules requiring items to have at least 75 percent domestic content to meet federal requirements for being produced in the country, up from 55 percent.

According to officials, Siemens USA will announce plans to invest $54 million and create 300 jobs in expanding domestic production of electrical components such as circuit boards used in electric vehicle chargers, data centers, and industrial sites. California and Texas will be home to some of the jobs.
