The president of Russian nuclear firm Rosatom stated on Friday that Russia is in talks with four nations on major nuclear projects and is prepared to supply African nations with nuclear power reactors of various sizes and designs.
According to Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachev, the business is in talks with Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Egypt about building big nuclear power stations.

At this week’s third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, which was attended by heads of state and government from over fifty African nations, nuclear cooperation was one of the subjects covered.
The forum was established in 2019 as a component of Russia’s initiatives to strengthen its commercial and political connections with Africa.
Following the summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that African nations have expressed a great interest in nuclear power facilities, small-scale nuclear technologies, and nuclear applications in agriculture and medicine.
Nine African nations have shown “significant interest” in Rosatom’s floating nuclear power plant technology, which the firm has marketed as a means for coastal nations to join the nuclear power industry, according to Likhachev.
