Germany will transmit hydrogen technology to Africa, according to a government official.

A German government official said on Wednesday that the German government plans to transfer hydrogen manufacturing technology to African countries as part of its efforts to phase out coal and nuclear energy.

The official stated ahead of a meeting between the African Union and the European Union set for Thursday and Friday in Brussels that Germany will have to import 40-60 percent of the hydrogen it requires for its energy transition goals.
