Haitian President Jovenel Moïse was killed after a group of unidentified individuals attacked his private home, the country’s interim prime minister said in a statement Wednesday.
Moïse’s wife, First lady Martine Moïse, is hospitalized, interim Premier Claude Joseph said.
Joseph denounced what he called a “scornful, unfeeling and primitive demonstration,” adding that Haiti’s National Police and different authorities had the circumstance in the Caribbean country under control.
The killing late Tuesday comes in the midst of developing political and financial steadiness and a rise in group violence
