The US expects $50 billion in tariff revenues per month as higher levies take effect.

As additional tariffs on imports from dozens of nations take effect, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated on Thursday that he anticipates the US will reach $50 billion in tariff receipts each month.

During an interview with Fox Business Network, Lutnick stated,

“And then you’re going to get the semiconductors, you’re going to get pharmaceuticals, and you’re going to get all sorts of additional tariff money coming in.”

Lutnick responded that it was conceivable to extend the August 12 deadline to strike a tariff agreement with China.

“I think we’re going to leave that to the trade team and to the president to make those decisions, but it feels likely that they’re going to come to an agreement and extend that for another 90 days, but I’ll leave it to that team.”
