Pharmaceutical company Walgreens Boots Alliance said on Tuesday that it will collaborate with DoorDash Inc, Uber Technologies Inc and others to dispatch same-day delivery – in less than two hours – for retail items in the US.
Rivals, including Walmart and CVS Health have since the beginning of the pandemic increased efforts on getting items to doorsteps within hours as customers get used to fast turn delivery. Walmart in February said it is raising wages for stocking and digital workers, who satisfy local online web and curbside pick-up orders.
Walgreens same-day purchases made online or by means of its application will be packaged by store workers and afterward picked up by delivery drivers. There will be no minimum order amount and clients in many business sectors will pay a delivery expense of $7.99 that will go to Walgreens.
