Netherlands street party fatal Truck crash: 6 killed, 7 injured.

Dutch police said on Sunday that a truck accident on Saturday night in the southern Dutch town of Nieuw Beijerland resulted in six fatalities. The truck plowed into a neighborhood party.

According to authorities, there were seven additional patients with incident-related injuries at hospitals on Sunday morning, one of whom was in a critical condition.

Around 6 p.m. (1600 GMT), a huge vehicle rolled off a dyke and onto a field where neighbors were having a party, around 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of Rotterdam.

The accident’s exact reason was still unknown, according to investigators.

The truck’s 46-year-old Spanish driver was imprisoned after being accused of causing a tragic car accident.

The driver showed no evidence of alcohol misuse, according to the police, who did not elaborate on the incident’s potential causes.

Spanish newspaper La Verdad quoted a spokeswoman for the man’s employer, El Mosca, as saying that the driver ran down the dyke and off the road in an effort to avoid hitting a vehicle.

Police said they had questioned the driver of a white van as a witness but did not confirm this story.
