Infosys signs a 5-year $2b deal to provide AI and automation services.

Infosys signs a 5-year $2b deal to provide AI and automation services.

The second-largest exporter of software services from India, Infosys, announced on Monday that it has agreed to supply artificial intelligence (AI) and automation services to a current client over a five-year period, with a target cost of $2 billion.

According to the company’s exchange filing, the deal covers development, modernization, and maintenance services pertaining to AI and automation.

The name of the client was withheld by the business.

Companies all across the world have increased their AI investment since ChatGPT, a generative Chabot developed by OpenAI with support from Microsoft, became a global phenomenon in late 2022.

The action by Infosys follows a statement from rival Tata Consultancy Services that it intended to train 25,000 engineers in order to certify them in Microsoft’s Azure Open AI. Wipro, a competing company, intends to spend $1 billion on artificial intelligence (AI) over the next three years.

In late May, Bengaluru-based Infosys unveiled its Infosys Topaz platform for generative artificial intelligence (AI).

On July 20, the business is anticipated to release first-quarter financial results.
