In a combined investigation involving 22 nations, police in Europe have detained almost 130 suspects of involvement in human trafficking, the international police agency Europol announced on Tuesday.
More than 100 potential victims of human trafficking were also identified as a result of the policy measures, which were carried out in the week leading up to June 13th, according to Europol.
Nearly 1 million people and 200,000 cars were subjected to checks during the operation, which was overseen by Frontex, the EU border agency, at sea, land, and air borders, mostly on regularly used routes into Europe.
Along with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine, Britain, and Liechtenstein, fifteen EU nations took part in the actions. There were about 22,500 law enforcement officers participating.
