Impala Platinum of South Africa announced on Monday that it intends to make a cash-and-stock bid to buy smaller platinum group metals producer Royal Bafokeng for 150 rands per share.
Royal Bafokeng said in a separate statement that its independent board does not have an opinion or recommendation on the merits of the offer at this time.
