Gunman returns to murder scene to kill 4 people including reporter covering the initial shooting.

Hours after allegedly killing a woman in the Orlando region, the alleged shooter returned to the same neighborhood and killed four more people, including a reporter who was there to cover the initial shooting and a 9-year-old girl, according to Florida police.

The murdered reporter was named Dylan Lyons on Thursday by Spectrum News 13. Also hurt was photographer Jesse Walden.

According to Orange County Sheriff John Mina, the two were being shot at while they were in an unmarked news car covering the first killing on Wednesday afternoon. Next, the attacker entered a neighboring house, where he shot and killed a girl and seriously injured her mother.

Keith Melvin Moses, 19, who authorities suspect is responsible for all of the shootings, has been captured, according to the sheriff.

Police, according to Mina, was not immediately aware of the shootings’ motivation. He claimed that while Moses did not seem to be connected to any of the other victims, he was familiar with the first victim. He observed that their vehicle didn’t resemble a conventional news van or have the station’s emblem on it and claimed it was unclear whether Moses realized that two of the guys shot were journalists.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Moses has a lawyer who can represent him.

In front of a room full of reporters, Mina said, “I want to realize what a horrific day this has been for our community and our media partners.” “No one in our community should become the victim of gun violence in our town, not a mother, not a 9-year-old, and certainly not news professionals,” the statement reads.

Deputies were called to the Pine Hills neighborhood, northwest of Orlando, on Wednesday morning after hearing claims that a lady in her 20s had been shot.

After the mother and daughter, Lyons and Walden were shot while covering the shooting hours later, according to police and witnesses. The WFTV crews, who were also covering the morning shooting, attempted to provide the Spectrum 13 reporters with medical attention.

According to Mina, Moses has already been charged with first-degree murder for the first victim, and charges for the other four victims are about to follow. According to the sheriff, Moses has a history of firearms crimes, aggravated battery, and assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, and grand theft.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre posted on Twitter, “Our thoughts go out to the family of the journalist slain today and the crew member injured in Orange County, Florida, as well as the whole Spectrum News team.”

Please, kindly, offer a prayer this evening for our critically ill coworker. During her live broadcast report on Wednesday night on Spectrum 13, journalist Celeste Springer urged viewers to offer a prayer for each victim of gun violence in this nation.

The station named Lyons and Walden in an article that was released early on Thursday.

“(Lyons) was very serious about his job. He had a great job. He was passionate about his work, according to friend and Spectrum Sports 360 reporter Josh Miller. “He was just passionate about what he did,” a witness said. “He loved the neighborhood, sharing the tales of individuals, and reporting on the news.

According to the station, Lyons was born and reared in Philadelphia and earned a degree from the University of Central Florida. He had worked for a Gainesville-based station before joining Spectrum News.

The reporter’s older sister Rachel Lyons is using a GoFundMe page to collect money for his funeral. Lyons would have turned 25 in March, according to her writing. His parents and fiancée are also still alive.

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, there were 40 documented journalist deaths worldwide last year. Two more were reported dead this year up until Wednesday. There was only one of those in America.

Jeff German, a reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal who investigated politics and corruption, was discovered dead outside his home in September after suffering numerous stab wounds. Robert Telles, a former public administrator for Clark County who had frequently been the focus of German’s research, has entered a not-guilty plea to a murder charge.

Reporter Alison Parker from Virginia and cameraman Adam Ward were shot and died in 2015 while working on a live TV broadcast for CBS affiliate WDBJ7. The suspect, a former TV station reporter, committed suicide as police were looking for him.
