Global warming: UK to experience record heat wave that causes sickness and death.

On Friday, the British Met Office issued a red “Extreme Heat” warning for parts of England for Monday and Tuesday next week, when temperatures could hit record highs and declared a national emergency.

The Met Office predicted exceptional, possibly record-breaking temperatures for Monday and Tuesday on their website.

“For the UK, nights are also likely to be unusually warm. This is especially true in urban areas. Widespread effects on both people and infrastructure are probably going to result from this.”

On July 25, 2019, the Cambridge University Botanic Garden in Britain registered a temperature of 38.7C, the highest ever recorded in the country.

Earlier this week, the UK Health Security Agency organization and the Met Office issued a level 3 heat-health alert for specific regions of the nation, necessitating the implementation of additional protective measures by social and healthcare institutions.

According to the Met Office website, the red, level 4 alert has been reached “when a heat wave is so intense and/or long-lasting that it has an impact that is not limited to the health and social care systems. At this point, not just high-risk populations but also fit and healthy people are susceptible to sickness and death.”
