A knife assault on an express train between the southern German cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg injured many persons on Saturday, police said, and a male suspect was apprehended.
“There was an attack on an ICE (Intercity-Express) train, and police detained a male individual shortly after, and several persons were hurt,” an Oberpfalz police spokeswoman said.
Three passengers were hurt on the train, according to the online edition of the daily Bild.
According to the police spokesman, there was no evidence that any attackers were still on the loose.
The attack occurred around 0800 GMT in the Neumarkt district, and the train was stopped near Seubersdorf, southeast of Regensburg, according to police.
