The firms released a statement stating that Dublin-based video game services company Keywords Studios is in advanced talks to be acquired by European private equity group EQT for 2.2 billion pounds ($2.79 billion).
According to the announcement, EQT is in negotiations for a potential cash offer of 25.50 pounds per share of London-listed Keywords. This offer is greater than Keywords’ closing share price on Friday, which was 14.70 pounds, by around 73%.
The statement claimed that EQT had previously submitted four unsolicited approaches for Keywords, all of which were turned down by the board of the business. It further stated that the current offer is a significant increase over the original plan.
According to the statement, the Keywords board “would be minded to recommend” the plan to the company’s shareholders after carefully reviewing it with its financial experts.
Laptops 1000EQT has until June 15th, in accordance with British takeover regulations, to either submit a formal bid or withdraw.
