Elon Musk’s X aims to monetize the app with video and audio calling, and two new premium subscription plans.

On Friday, Elon Musk’s social media network X—previously known as Twitter—unveiled two new subscription tiers, one of which is Premium+, for those who are ready to pay to access the network without advertisements.

According to a post made by the company on the platform, the Premium+ plan, which costs roughly $16 a month, has all of the tools and services that the platform offers, except for the advertisements.

It stated that, for the time being, those who are accessing the platform via a web browser will be able to utilize it.

The $3 monthly fee for the basic tier includes advertisements.

In an effort to make the platform an all-in-one app, X also intends to integrate audio and video calling for some consumers.

Musk has been looking into a number of ways to heavily monetize the social media network that he purchased in October 2022 for $44 billion.
