E-vehicle parts: Rheinmetall wins a quarter-billion-euro contract from the German automaker.

German company Rheinmetall announced on Monday that it has received an order in the electromobility sector for more than quarter-billion-euro contract.

A high-end German carmaker, according to Rheinmetall, will receive a new kind of contactor for the 900-volt generation of electric vehicles.

According to Rheinmetall, contactors are electrically regulated switches that enable the safe starting and stopping of electric cars.

According to Rheinmetall, tens of millions of these contactors will be provided for the automaker’s new vehicle platform beginning in 2025.
