Basel rules: Banks to hike capital by 6% to ensure compliance by end of the decade. – BoE

By the end of the decade, the Bank of England estimated that applying the final set of international bank capital regulations in Britain would result in a 6% increase in capital requirements.

“Overall, the impact won’t be significant until the mid-to-late 2020s, and by 2030, when Basel 3.1 will be fully implemented, we anticipate a slight average rise in capital requirements across UK firms.” Moreover, we’re giving businesses plenty of time to adapt, as Director of the BoE Phil Evans spoke at a UK Finance event.
