After a storm, dozens of people are trapped in England’s highest pub.

After a blizzard closed off the building, dozens of customers who stopped for a drink at Britain’s highest altitude pub got more than they bargained for.

Sixty-one individuals awoke Monday at the Tan Hill Inn in the Yorkshire Dales, 270 miles (435 kilometers) north of London, following their third night there. They have been unable to leave since Friday, when a late-autumn storm dumped snow and strong winds, causing power lines to fall and highways to become impassable.

The bar is located 1,732 feet (528 meters) above sea level and is used to being cut off from the rest of the world by poor weather.

Staff had prepared movies, a quiz night, and karaoke for the trapped guests, according to manager Nicola Townsend. They’ve also been amused by Noasis, an Oasis cover band who have been stranded at the pub since their Friday night performance.

The visitors, according to Townsend, were “in extremely fantastic shape.”

“They’ve built quite a connection… the best way I can describe it is like a huge family,” she said. “One lady stated emphatically, ‘I don’t want to leave.'”

People should be able to return home later Monday, according to Townsend, once the roads have been cleaned.
