Adobe, a software company, announced on Wednesday that it will expand its product portfolio aimed at creative professionals by launching a new generative AI-powered video creation and editing tool in a limited release.
The artificial intelligence technology, called Adobe Firefly Video Model, will be made available in beta form and added to the Photoshop creator’s portfolio of Firefly image-generating programs, which let users create vector graphics, still photos, and designs.
With this paradigm, Adobe will take a more prominent place in the expanding market for AI-based video creation tools, which is already being pursued by smaller businesses such as Sora from OpenAI, Stable Video Diffusion from Stability AI, and others.
Laptops 1000According to Alexandru Costin, vice president of generative AI at Adobe, the tool can understand both word and visual cues. It can create a five-second clip for a single query.
Additionally, users can designate the necessary zoom, motion, panning, and camera angle.
“We’ve made the necessary investments to ensure that this model meets the high standards for clarity and speed that videographers demand.
Costin stated, “We’ve invested in making sure we pay attention to the prompt… respecting guidance from videographers much better than other (AI video) models.”
According to Adobe, the video model was trained on licensed or public domain footage that it was granted permission to use, rather than on content owned by Adobe customers.
“We only train them on the Adobe Stock database of content that contains 400 million images, illustrations, and videos that are curated to not contain intellectual property, trademarks, or recognizable characters,” Costin added.
Additionally, Adobe is releasing a feature called Generative Extend, which can be found in its Premiere Pro video editing program.
It allows you to add two extra seconds to any existing film by creating a suitable insert to fill in any gaps in the footage.
