Regarding the European Union’s tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles, the Chinese government announced on Friday that it has complained with the World Trade Organization.
China has used the WTO dispute settlement procedure, according to the Commerce Ministry, “to safeguard the development rights and interests of the electric vehicle industry and cooperation on the global green transformation.”
Citing unfair government subsidies, the EU has placed provisional tariffs of up to 37.6% on electric vehicles (EVs) manufactured in China.
China claims that its encouragement of the EV sector complies with WTO regulations.

When compared to the same month last year, China’s vehicle exports increased in July, while domestic sales decreased, according to a report released on Friday by an industry group.
According to China’s Commerce Ministry, the EU tariffs are against WTO regulations and jeopardize international climate change collaboration.
