To assist Europeans in learning how to use artificial intelligence (AI), Google has committed 25 million euros ($26.98 million).
On Monday, the IT behemoth said that it has extended the application period to nonprofits and social entrepreneurs who could assist in reaching the people who would most benefit from training. Additionally, the company has expanded its free online AI training courses to 18 languages and will be hosting a series of “growth academies” to assist businesses employing AI to scale.
Adrian Brown, executive director of the Centre for Public Impact, which is managing the charity program with Google, stated that research indicates that the advantages of AI could worsen already-existing inequities, particularly in terms of employment and economic security. “By ensuring that no one is left behind, this new program will help people across Europe develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence around AI.”
