The CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., Warren Buffett, claimed on Saturday that Apple Inc. is the best company in the company’s portfolio.
“Apple is unique compared to the other companies we control. During Berkshire’s annual meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, Buffett observed, “It just so happens to be a superior business.
In May 2016, Berkshire disclosed a $1 billion investment in Apple. By March 2023, the company had increased that investment to $151 billion, or 46% of its $328 billion equity portfolio.
Buffett has long lauded Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, and has considered the firm less as a technological company and more as a manufacturer of consumer goods with a bestselling product in the iPhone.
Buffett stated that Berkshire may buy more Apple stock, which it now owns for 5.6% of the company.
