A five-year, $723.9 million corporate software license contract for Amazon.com Inc.’s cloud computing division was given by the US Navy on Monday.
The agreement will give the Navy access to the commercial cloud environment, professional services, and training and certification programs offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
As part of the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability contract, the Pentagon earlier this month granted $9 billion in cloud computing contracts to Alphabet Inc.’s Google, AWS, Microsoft Corp., and Oracle Corp.
According to the Pentagon, work will be done from December of this year to 2028 for a maximum of five years.
