“Over the last five years, we invested €13 billion in France to transform our industrial footprint entirely to bet on electric, and over the next five years, if the social and political context allows it, we will reinvest more than €10 billion to continue pushing on electric and on making cars more affordable,” Chief Executive François Provost stated in an interview on France Inter radio on Saturday.

In September, 42% of new automobile registrations in France were electric vehicles, a record driven by the surge in fuel prices since the start of the Iran war.

In actuality, we now build more cars in French factories than we did in the past. We built 500,000 automobiles in France in 2025. In 2026, we will produce at least 25% more thanks to the rise of electric vehicles.
