A unit of Tata Consultancy Services announced on Saturday that its partners would invest up to 700 billion rupees ($7.41 billion) to construct a 1-gigawatt AI data center campus in the Indian state of Telangana.
HyperVault, a subsidiary of TCS, has acquired 264 acres in Hyderabad for the project, which will be built in stages.
The facility, which supports high-density GPU deployments for AI training and inference, is targeted at hyperscalers and AI enterprises.
HyperVault said the campus is anticipated to be one of the biggest AI infrastructure facilities in India when it is fully constructed.
Hyderabad provided the scale, talent, and ecosystem required to service customers worldwide, according to TCS CEO K Krithivasan. The announcement follows TCS’s agreement to purchase Porsche AG automotive and consulting unit, MHP, as the company expands its operations beyond typical IT services.
